Refrigerator Repair Las Cruces

It’s almost time to stock the kitchen with Irish foods and beverages. So, our refrigerator repair Las Cruces experts know that many of you may have questions about storing St. Patrick’s Day staples. That said, we’ve rounded up more refrigerator advice than anyone can shake a shillelagh at and put it into today’s blog post. Hopefully, it will help keep the green in your pockets and off of your corned beef and cabbage. So hold on to your shamrocks and let’s get started:
Corned Beef
Whether you’re making your own corned beef or buying it pre-seasoned, it doesn’t matter. Storing the leftovers should be handled in the same way. By all food experts’ accounts, it has to be put back into storage no more than two hours after it comes out of the oven or crockpot. If you are going to put it in the refrigerator, make sure that the family eats it up within four days. If that’s not possible, freeze it instead. Just be sure to finish off the leftovers within three months. Otherwise, the corned beef will lose its delicious flavor.
Boiled Cabbage
As for the boiled cabbage, try to convince the family to finish off the pot before they leave the table. That’s because cooked cabbage does not store well at all, whether you put it into the fridge or freezer. It has a propensity to lose texture, a lot of flavor and color within hours. So it’s highly unlikely that anyone will find it appetizing after a day or two in cold storage. Nonetheless, if you want to save it anyway, put it in the fridge the same time you pack away the leftover corned beef.
Boiled Potatoes
Similar can be said about those lovely, boiled potatoes. They have a tendency to discolor and turn mushy if left in the fridge or freezer to long. If everyone is too full to eat them, try covering the potatoes with paper towels and putting them in to the fridge within two hours of boiling. The towels should help sop up any excess moisture until you’re ready to reheat them. If you’d rather freeze them, that’s okay too. Just follow basic flash freezing procedures before bagging them up for later. Oh, and be sure to finish them off within a month or two. Failure to do so may leave you with a tasteless, mushy, discolored mess.
Irish Cream

Are you planning on serving homemade Irish cream too? If so, keep in mind that it is made from dairy products. Consequently, any leftovers should go immediately into an air-tight, sterilized container and directly into the fridge. Then encourage the family to drink it all up within a week. Otherwise, the milk may spoil and make everyone deathly sick.
