Washer Repair Pros May Help Resolve Machines’ Water Fill Woes

Las Cruces, New Mexico washer repairWasher Repair service today.

The last time you tossed a load of laundry into the washing machine did it take longer than usual for the machine to fill up with water? Was a humming sound present too? If so, it’s time to have our washer repair pros come over and take a look at the machine’s water fill valve. When it’s in need of repair, the machine won’t fill properly.

Washing machines may have single or two-coil water fill valves, although the majority of ones that our washer repair pros run across are the latter. The major different between the two is that the number of coils determines the number of exterior water hoses. Either way, both types of valves are typically accessible through the machine’s rear panel.

Part of every water fill valve consists of electrical components and the other half connects to an exterior water source. As such, it also has small screens that act as a filter every time the water leaves the exterior inlet hoses and enters the washing machine. Over time, those screens can clog up and the electrical components may malfunction. In addition, the inlet hoses could fill up with hard sediment, thereby restricting water flow too.

If a water fill valve problem is suspected, our washer repair pros will typically go through several steps to determine the source of the problem. For example, they may remove the inlet hoses and screens first to determine if there is debris present. Oftentimes, that will fix the problem, thereby eliminating the need for extra steps.

Should the hoses and screens appear clean, they may continue the service call by breaking out an ohmmeter. It is designed to verify whether or not the electricity is flowing properly through the valve. If it’s not, the wire connectors, terminals or sensors may need to be replaced.
